India beat Cameroon 5-4 in Penalty Shootout and win third successive Nehru Cup title in Delhi on Sunday 2nd September, 2012. Well, this is an excellent and historic match for team India in 2012 Nehru Cup final.

India started very well and scored goal in 19th minute by Gouramangi Singh. After that, Cameroon level the score 1-1 with the help of Makkon Thierry. In 54th minute, Cameroon score another stunning goal by Kingue Mpondo and lead the score 2-1. Indian Skipper Sunil Chhetri who leveled the score 2-2 from a penalty kick and both teams were paused 2-2 at the end of 120 minutes of play. Finally India win this final match with 5-4 in penalty Shootout and beat the powerful Cameroon team.

Overall Cameroon(present Fifa ranking 59) played very well better than India(Present Fifa ranking 168) in whole match and hold the ball position 60% as well as they attacked many times for goal but they prevented by the Indian new Dutch Coach Wim Koevermans's strategy. Undoubtedly, this win helps to increase the power and strength as well as the ray of hope in Indian football .
